I love this little RX. Range is nothing I ever had a problem with, size and weight is just fantastic. I flashed them to LBT for europe use, no problem.
Although FrSky sells them as "no telemetry" you can still get RSSI-reading via OSD (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-rOd4_DSIk). Very nice feature and everthing I need for a miniquad.
And they are affordable. In fact I see no reason for an XSR on a miniquad, but that may be just me.

I had the same problems, but i had to flash the older firmware (XM170323). If both LEDs a lighting, there is no communication between transmitter and XM plus. With the old firmware, the binding was successfull (the red LED blinked red).

este receptor está pensado para usar con una controladora de vuelo, en la que tendrás que configurar en que puerto está conectada y el protocolo de comunicación, que es sbus, y ya incluye los cables de conexión con la controladora, si lo que quieres es conectar directamente los servo, necesitas una con salidas pwm

This receiver is intended for use with a flight controller, in which you will have to configure in which port is connected and the communication protocol, which is sbus, and already includes the connection cables with the controller, if what you want is to directly connect the servos, you need one with pwm outputs
